Working together
There are three kinds of interpersonal interactions: conversational, transactional and collaborative.
If you care to make the correct choice selecting your software technology, you have to understand the differences that are significant between those interactions.
Conversational interaction is about exploring unfamiliar facts or establishing relationships. An instance of a transactional interaction might be observed when you get into the store and change your money for groceries.
Interactions of collaboration are dealt with in such a way that the key goal of those involved is to change the collaboration substance from what has been non-secured and immaterial, for instance, an idea, into a useful solution, for instance a blueprint.
Teamwork software is considered to be one type of groupware types that make it easier for people communicate information and work together on various tasks.
The power of these solutions lies in the ability to allow project activists to see action plans, exchange documents, be updated on projects, supervise schedules, automate business processes, be instantly reminded of any tasks and events they are involved in. You may come across a lot of ways in which this software can be very useful: scheduling events, documents and projects, facilitating business processes and harmonizing work of several business units or even companies.

When people deal with each other, they use three key approaches: conversations, transactions, and collaborations.
Seeing through what is different between them is necessary to ensure that an appropriate software technology is employed to gratify your needs.
An interaction of conversation is a transfer of information and an interaction of transaction is transfer of a transaction substance between 2 or more participants, while an interaction of collaboration is employed for a modification of a collaboration entity, ex.: reaching a common objective.
Collaborative interactions are structured in such a way that the key goal of those involved is to modify the collaboration substance from what used to be non-secured and immaterial, for instance, an idea, into a useful solution, for example a design solution.
Collaborative software is related to groupware types that allow people exchange information and work as a team on projects.
The power of these solutions lies in the ability to allow users to manage action plans, share documents, be updated on projects, monitor schedules, optimize business processes, be instantly reminded of any new objectives and things they are involved in. There are a lot of approaches to making these applications useful: managing events, papers and projects, optimizing business processes and coordinating work of two or more departments or even firms.

IRIA was established in 1954 at the Willow Run Laboratories to facilitate the exchange of information within the Department of Defense (DoD) infrared community. The center is now a DoD Information Analysis Center (IAC) sponsored by the Defense Technical Information Center and monitored by the Associate Director for Science and Technology, Army Night Vision and Electronic Sensors Directorate. IRIA is chartered to collect, analyze, compile, and disseminate scientific and technical information relevant to military sensing and related fields. See About IRIA for additional information.
The IRIA Center administers the Military Sensing Symposia (MSS), a series of annual meetings on selected topics within military sensing fields. Attendance at these meetings is controlled.
IRIA is supported by the US Department of Defense and US industry. Access to certain pages on this web site requires pre-authorization. Contact us for additional details, or read the current issue of our quarterly newsletter, Spectral Reflections for additional information.
